Description
Inwood’s iconic Kenny Building, then a service station, is visible to the right in this 1936 bird’s eye view of Dyckman Street near Staff Street. Only two decades earlier this stretch of Dyckman Street was lined with private homes. Towering in the distance, far to the east, rise the four smokestacks of the old Con Edison power generating station on Sherman Creek.
